Danjoo Koorliny 2022 Festival
30 November & 1 December 2022
Our 2022 festival will be held in the beautiful hot season of Birak, with a strong focus on caring for the environment.
Mark your calendars, and join us for a diverse range of experiences to celebrate Aboriginal cultures, art and ways of caring for everything. The festival summit will be held in Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park) and focus on connecting with and healing Boodja (Country).
The festivities will spectacularly close with a Meeka Moorart full moon ceremony on Thursday 8 December.
Why Caring for Everything?
We cannot care for anything if we don't care for everything.
Danjoo Koorliny's Caring for Everything philosophy, is built on recognising that the social, cultural, environmental and economic spheres of our world are all interconnected.
This holistic approach to creating social impact is based on the Noongar dreaming story, Moondang-ak Kaaradjiny - Caring for Everything. It is a story that starts a long time ago, when everything on the planet was being created and humans were tasked with the responsibility to be the carers of everything that exists on the Earth.

Further workshops and other events may be added soon.

This is an opportunity to come together for a discussion about important themes connected to the 2029 and Beyond Vision, so that these themes can be woven throughout the key Danjoo Koorliny Social Impact Festival events. This will be a free space to talk openly in relationship to cultural, environmental, economic and social themes as we walk together towards 2029 and beyond. Please note that this session is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People only.
Danjoo Koorliny Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Session (Sep 21)
Danjoo Koorliny Walking Together Social Impact Summit (October 6-7)
The key event of the Danjoo Koorliny Social Impact Festival will be back again this year. The sold-out 2019 and 2020 Danjoo Koorliny Summits have inspired a large-scale, long-term, systems-change movement designed and led by Aboriginal leaders to help us all become better carers of everything. Danjoo Koorliny Walking Together has now become a year-round movement for walking together towards 2029 (200 years of colonisation in Perth) and beyond. This year will focus on the emerging collective vision for 2029 and beyond, and the pathways that will take us there.
Kambarang Meeka Moorart Full Moon Ceremony (October 20)
Join us at Gurndandulup / Matilda Bay on the first full moon of Kambarang for Ni! Bilyada Waanginy Listen! The Rivers are Speaking and Meeka Moorart Full Moon Ceremony. This is an Aboriginal-led cultural event featuring original song and dance celebrating the moon. It also forms part of our signature project Ni! Bilyada Waanginy Listen! The Rivers are Speaking which involves caring for and healing our waterways.
